TranscenDance the concert was a huge success!
Our dark fusion concert event Sashi was a huge success, and our international guest artist was awesome. Our local dance talent exceeded all expectations and our Goddess belly Dance teachers and students were stand out features of the night! A DVD is in the works, but for now if you want some of that Goddess Belly Dance skills then come see us in classes, spaces available now!
Term 3 Classes with Maisah in 2010, July 12th-September 18th.

In Term 3 Maisah has classes in three locations, Dandenong, Fitzroy and Croydon. Trial classes are $18.00. Please bring exact change in cash in an envelope with your name, the date and the class you wish to trial to the class for your teacher.
We also have a NEW home on Mondays at Swish Dance Studio in Dandenong, please see the map below for the location.
Class Levels and Descriptions:
Level 1: Egyptian Basics
For students with no previous belly dance experience. Classes focus on posture and basic movements. You can book into this class at any time during the term. Excellent foundation skills for belly dance and belly dance fusion.
Level 2: Egyptian Intermediates
For students with a minimum of 6 months belly dance experience. Introduces more complex steps, levels, transitions, props, different dance styles and choreography. Start learning how to create exciting dances.
Level 3: Raks Hasna (beautiful dance)
For students with at least 2 years belly dance experience. Classes will have an increased focus on stretching/warm up for improved flexibility and scope of movement, complex movements & combinations, improvisation & development of individual style, group & solo work.
Gothic Fusion Dance: Elysium Priestess
Introduction level. Elysium is gothic fusion belly dance, Egyptian and ATS inspired with a twist of spooky. Elysium Priestess classes are open to students who have a minimum of a solid Level 1 foundation and covers the Elysium format basic moves, cues and combinations. Learn moves such as Menace, Deception, Sinister, Seduction and Possessed.
Class Notes for Term 3
Level 1: Egyptian Basic students will be learning relaxed and organic belly dance moves and posture, please come dressed to dance.
Level 2: Egyptian Intermediate students will be learning Raks Assaya (the cane dance), students will need to bring or invest in a cane. Your teacher will also instruct you on how to make one in week 2.
Level 3: Raks Hasna (beautiful dance) students will be learning a Cairo-Style Cabaret and will need long skirts, hip scarves and a veil.
Elysium Priestess students will be learning Elysium combinations, cues and a dark fusion choreography, please come dressed to dance.

There is a 10% discount for more than one class per term.
Fee's: TERM 3 (10 week term)
1 hour class = $160 (Regular) or $140 (Under 18's)
A discount of 10% applies to students who enrol in more than one class per term (this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer).

TO EACH CLASS: Please bring a yoga Mat and wear comfortable clothing for dance. Absolutely no coin belts please. Cameras and note pads are fine. No spectators or small children please.

The Elysium Temple Series Workshops are in Geelong and Ballarat, on the third Sunday of each month from April until October/November, and bookings are made directly with the hosts in each location. If you would like to attend, please check for times, availability and costs with the Geelong or Ballarat hostesses.

In Ballarat and Geelong we are stating all NEW projects as of August so there is still time to book your place in these rural workshops.
In Geelong: From August to November we are learning a dark fusion choreography to Johnny Hollow, including all new 2010 Elysium format moves and combinations.
In Ballarat: from August to October we are learning the PseudoSkirt choreography "Contraption" for performance at UnEarthed in November.

These workshops are not suitable for under 10's. Child minding [if available] is arranged directly with the workshop sponsors and not with Raqs Gothique. No unsupervised children in workshops please.
