Raqs Gothique: Ma'isah and Bellyslap perform "Sinister V.2" @ Carni Nights 26 July 2009. The new version of Sinister was written for Ma'isah by Bellyslap, the rhythms include 8/4 Masmoudi, 14/8 Ghengis, 7/8 Balkan, 6/8 Persian, 10/8 Samai, and the popular 2/4 Kaligi and Malfuf!

Act III) "The Showgirls of the Sideshow" (song Dvie Guitary - Balatonia Gypsy Orchestra)
The Hoochie Coochie tent...four showgirls try to outdo each other, and moreover upstage the star! The characters are the "Lush", the "Vamp", the "Diva" and the "Star". The poor "Star" thinks she is the headliner but can't get her back up dancers to behave - and they clearly have no respect for her either...mayhem ensues...

post script: this was one of the last gigs we did as SerpentSkirt with this line up - the troupe has dissolved to make way for Elysium. These gals have a special place in my heart and I'm so proud of all we did together!
